Elon Musk Celebrates Charro Days in Texas

Elon Musk had a busy weekend in Brownsville Texas.  Elon had a great weekend relaxing in the style at the annual Charro Days Fiesta in Browsville – specifically the Sombrero Festival. Elon originally agreed to go back on February 10th during a presentation at the SpaceX facility in Boca Chica when someone asked if he would go.

Charro Days, also known as Charro Days Fiesta or Charro Days Festival, is a two-nation fiesta and an annual four-day pre-Lenten celebration held in Brownsville, Texas, United States in cooperation with Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The grito—a joyous Mexican shout—opens the festivities every year.
Charro Days celebrates the bonds of friendship between Matamoros, Mexico and Brownsville, TX. The tradition began in 1938 and has continued for over eighty five years now. Charro Days begins on Thursday, February 19, 2022 thru March 6, 2022.

Why is Charro Days important to Brownsville Matamoros?
Charro Days is a week-long celebration of friendship between the citizens of Brownsville, Texas and Matamoros, Tamaulipas along the Rio Grande. It began in 1938 to boost the economy and the spirits of the community suffering from the Great Depression and aftermath of a category 5 hurricane

Saturday evening during the Sombrero Festival photos started showing up on Twitter and Facebook of Elon and his son hanging out with locals like any normal father and son duo, some even said he looked like most any other suburban dad hanging out with his kid.

It should be noted that SpaceX was a sponsor of this year’s Charro Days and also made a float for their annual parade that featured SpaceX employees in traditional Mexican clothing, a Raptor engine, and a video showing rockets launching. Elon has also recently donated millions to the Brownsville community.
